Valerio and Camilla Adami
LEI. Ritratti di donne, da Van Gogh a Modigliani e oltre
Palazzo del Governatore, Parma

2 October 2026 – 8 March 2027

Works by Valerio and Camilla Adami are featured in the exhibition LEI. Ritratti di donne, da Van Gogh a Modigliani e oltre, hosted at the Palazzo del Governatore in Parma from 2 October 2026 to 8 March 2027 and curated by Renata Cristina Mazzantini and Cesare Biasini Selvaggi.

The exhibition brings together more than 60 works from the collections of the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome and spans more than two centuries of art history, tracing the evolution of the representation of the female figure and the different ways in which women have been portrayed through the gaze of artists over time.
The exhibition features Pelléas et Mélisande (2025) by Valerio Adami and Femmes fatales (2020) by Camilla Adami, both recently donated by the respective artists to the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea in Rome. Their presence in Parma offers an opportunity to present to the public two works that have entered the collections of the GNAMC, enriching its holdings with a testimony to the artistic research of both artists.

‘I am an artist, not an intellectual.
My research is primarily sensory.
Almost every part of my body thinks, and my brain participates.’
