Contaminations

‘Women do really need to find points of reference, to take stock from time to time. Men, even as boys, are already more or less placed by their families, by things, by needs.
So I created the series I called Contaminations because it has to do with different elements. You feel like you're in an element that isn't your own.
In fact, to do it, I got myself covered in mud, which was complicated. I need to feel things on me because they charge me with something, and I believe that my paintings need energy, even emotional energy.’
