‘When I did Drag Queens, no one talked about them, people didn't know about them, I had seen a few films in New York but they were people who lived close to you and that's it. And then, when I started portraying them, there was this desire to be something else.
We've lost that... we don't want to be that.
In other words, yes, you want to look like a movie star, but that's not the point. You think there's a different world around you, that you can change things around you, that you can change yourself, there's a kind of desire for life.
That's the meaning of life.
There's something that belongs to the universal dream.’
